New Leadership News, Last Chance to Spam!

Hey EMIG! I wanted to make sure I had a last chance at a post/blog/spam to let you know officially about new leadership stuff! Ben Constance (whose class photo is curiously absent from the composite class photo page), Stacie Beck and I (Noel Hastings) are fading into the sunset as 2nd year ends and 3rd years comes over the horizon. The new leaders that most of you have met, Joe Rogers (E-06) and Kyrsten Stoops (E-06) are taking the reigns. They have managed the last few meeting and are pros and have some cool new ideas about where EMIG will head in the future.

I also know that there will also be opportunities for future leadership needs, so contact them at this email if you are interested. In addition, we need to get this website and student group out to the students in WWAMI land! We need their help to push the EM residency forward, so tell your friends and future students that we can find ways to get them involved too! With so many people matching in EM these days, it means the WWAMI states are being forced to send more of their students away for training. Stats don't lie an 50% of people stay where they do residency, so this is not good for WWAMI states. We want them on our side to deliver the message that we need EM training here, in the perfect PNW!

That is all, have a great summer and I hope you got something good out of the EMIG this year! It was a great honor being able to help organize a lot of the workshops & lectures. The EMIG has become of the largest and most active student groups in the medical school and it would not be that way if was not for all of you interested students! Visit the website for all your planning needs, workshop news, photo albums and residency resources. Most of all, ENJOY your summer (if you get one)!

Airlift Northwest Photos Now on Web Albums!

The UW EMIG hosted a demo of patient care in the air recently with Airlift Northwest. They were kind enough to fly out a helicopter and a flight crew to demonstrate patient care and safety in air transport. Check out the photos of the event on our web albums! (Photo Album Link Always available to right).
