Emergency Medicine Precepting

Many people have questions about how to sign up for an EM preceptorship so here's how:
  1. E-mail Tamara Hister Harrison at histert@u.washington.edu before the beginning of the quarter you'd like to do the preceptorship. Try to give her a good bit of advance notice. You might include your hospital preference (e.g. UWMC, HMC, or Children's) but please be flexible.
  2. Tamara will try to find you an EM attending willing to take a student. When she does, she will e-mail you with the physician's name and contact information along with the codes you'll need to register. Be patient as it can take time for her to contact the EM physician and for the EM physician to contact her back.
  3. Register via MyUW and contact your preceptor to set up times. Go have fun!
